A fresh indoor play facility for toddlers and young children is coming to Peacehaven.

Wave Active is establishing a soft-play venue in the town, taking over the location currently occupied by Sky High Trampoline Park, which is scheduled to shut down during the summer months.

The initiative has received partial funding through a £126,960 grant provided by Lewes District Council using Community Infrastructure Levy resources.

The authority’s tourism and leisure portfolio holder, Councillor Johnny Denis, expressed support for the scheme, stating that it would offer local youngsters and their families an exciting destination for play, exploration and physical activity. The councillor added that investing in community amenities aligns with the council’s dedication to enhancing residents’ health and creating opportunities for everyone.

The facility will be situated on Newton Road within the Meridian Industrial Estate and feature a multi-tiered adventure zone equipped with slides, passageways and climbing structures, alongside a dedicated area for toddlers.

Additional amenities include a celebration space for birthday events and a café where parents and guardians can relax.

Wave Active’s chief executive, Duncan Kerr, conveyed enthusiasm about the venture, noting that the new centre would provide children and families with an energetic, interactive environment for staying active and enjoying playtime together. The executive thanked Lewes District Council for its backing in making the transformation achievable for the benefit of the local community.
