Norman Cook Adds Extra Seaside Concert Date to Summer Schedule

The Brighton-based DJ Fatboy Slim, whose birth name is Norman Cook, has revealed a fourth evening has been added to his much-anticipated seaside comeback.

The veteran artist had previously revealed three On The Beach performances scheduled for July 17, 18 and 19. Following the rapid sell-out of all three events, Cook has now confirmed an extra show on July 16 will take place.

Those wishing to secure priority booking can register through the Big Beach Boutique 7 platform.

Cook expressed his delight at the development, stating that he was thrilled to be able to present a fourth beach evening. He noted that the ticket demand had been unexpectedly strong and extended his gratitude to the council and local community for permitting the additional date.

The inaugural Big Beach Boutique occurred 25 years ago, drawing approximately 40,000 attendees to Brighton’s shoreline.

In 2002, Fatboy Slim came back for the second edition of the event, a free outdoor concert that gathered an unprecedented audience exceeding 250,000 people.

Officials recognised they could not replicate the 2002 gathering, resulting in the event remaining absent from Brighton for more than four years.

When the festival made its comeback on New Year’s Day 2007, it had been repositioned in the schedule and relocated to Madeira Drive.

A ticketing system was implemented to manage attendance, with 20,000 ticket holders from the Brighton region gaining entry.

The fourth edition of Big Beach Boutique arrived the following year, once again occupying a fresh spot in the calendar on September 27.

The fifth iteration, called Big Beach Bootique, spanned two evenings in 2012, with Cook becoming the first performer to top the bill at the newly opened Amex Stadium in Falmer.

During July 2022, marking the 20th anniversary of the 2002 event, the artist headlined the On the Beach festival in Brighton.

The upcoming 2026 performances are promoted as maintaining the characteristic atmosphere while offering a smaller, more exclusive audience experience.
