Italian appliances are powering a Sussex initiative following a major gift from a well-known cooker manufacturer.

Margot, a community interest company based in Lewes that provides cooking education for young people, has been donated two integrated ovens and two gas cooktops by Italian company Bertazzoni.

The equipment will serve recipe creation, video production, and workshops with Cook School, a programme that instructs children in preparing nutritious, environmentally-friendly meals.

Amanda Grant, who established Margot, stated that the organisation was extremely thankful for Bertazzoni’s generous contribution and honoured to feature their appliances at Margot.

She added that Margot views cooking collaboratively as an enjoyable activity and that Bertazzoni enhances this experience. The organisation particularly appreciates both the classic design of the ovens and the company’s principles, including the fact that it operates as a family enterprise, mirroring Margot’s own structure.

Revenue generated by Margot, which retails sustainably manufactured home and living items, funds Cook School’s operations.

Bertazzoni, founded as a family company in Italy in 1882 with its main office in northern Italy, expressed pride in supporting the initiative.

Paul Whyte, business development director at Bertazzoni UK Ltd, said the company hoped users would find pleasure in the appliances and the appetising dishes prepared with them.
