Those arranging pre-wedding celebrations along England’s southern coastline may find themselves with an unexpectedly large bill, according to new findings.
Research has identified Brighton as among the costliest locations across Britain for hen and stag occasions.
The coastal destination secured third place in the national price rankings, with the capital London claiming first position.
The investigation, conducted by Fast Loan UK, examined typical expenses for accommodation, beverages and travel to determine where couples and their friends would get the most value.
Brighton received a meagre affordability rating of just 3.99 out of ten in this new measurement system.
A single night’s hotel accommodation in the seaside town averages £85, while a standard ten-kilometre taxi ride typically costs groups approximately £20, the research indicates.
The research also found Brighton had the second highest bottomless brunch prices on the list, with attendees spending an average of £45 per person.
Drink costs in the town rival those in the capital, with a standard pint costing around £6.50.
Even purchasing alcohol to consume privately proves pricey, with supermarket wine averaging £8.30 per bottle.
While Brighton and London lead the price rankings, other areas of the nation provide significantly better value.
Blackpool emerged as the most economical option for pre-wedding festivities. Chester and Sheffield also appeared as economical alternatives for groups seeking to minimise expenditure.
To sidestep the impact of elevated costs, Joe Brunt, a consumer finance specialist at Fast Loan UK, recommends arranging trips considerably ahead of time.
Securing travel and lodging early enables participants to obtain the most competitive rates and greatest availability, according to Brunt.
Timing represents another important consideration for those wishing to protect their finances. The busiest period extends from March through June, meaning visits during quieter seasons or midweek can result in substantial savings.
Selecting essential activities helps prevent expenses from escalating rapidly. From racing experiences to brewery visits, cramming too many options into the itinerary quickly inflates the total cost.
Concentrating on the most popular choices among attendees prevents the schedule from becoming overcrowded and keeps spending manageable, Brunt added.
