A young performer aged 12 impressed the judging panel during this weekend’s edition of the popular ITV talent competition.

James Miller, originating from the East Sussex town of Rye, showcased his talents during the broadcast on Saturday, March 21.

Prior to taking the stage, the contestant admitted feeling somewhat anxious, yet this failed to affect his impressive delivery of the showstopping number Defying Gravity from the musical Wicked.

The youngster was met with a standing ovation from the quartet of judges—Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, Stacey Solomon and KSI—as well as those watching from the studio audience.

Dixon labelled the performer as destined for greatness and declared that he had completely nailed his performance.

Stacey Solomon, filling in for Simon Cowell’s usual position, remarked that witnessing such exceptional talent puts parents’ expectations into perspective, noting that James’s falsetto work particularly stood out to her, and describing the overall performance as truly remarkable.

Holden expressed astonishment that someone of his small stature possessed such a powerful singing voice, offering her congratulations.

YouTube personality KSI commented that the 12-year-old had amazed everyone present.

James secured approval from all four judges.

Viewers taking to social platforms expressed disappointment that he did not receive the golden buzzer, which would have advanced him directly to the semi-final stage.

The contestant is now in the running for the top prize of £250,000 along with the opportunity to appear at this year’s Royal Variety Performance.
