Published on

Officers have issued an appeal for anyone who may have seen an incident in which a woman encountered a man acting indecently while using a public footpath.

The encounter took place in the vicinity of Selsey, a coastal settlement located to the south of Chichester, on the afternoon of Monday, August 24.

According to Chichester Police, the man appeared on a footpath leading from the Church Norton car park that leads on to Pagham nature reserve and then again in the car park at about 2.15pm.

Police describe him as being around 20 years old, approximately 5’11 in height, with short brown hair, dressed in grey shorts and a white T-shirt.

Church Norton sits on the boundary of Pagham Harbour, a nature reserve overseen by the RSPB that draws walkers, birdwatchers and nature lovers to its saltmarshes, mudflats and shingle beaches throughout the year.

Sussex Police have urged anyone with relevant information or dashcam recordings to get in touch by calling 101 and referencing serial 799 of 24/08.
