A Brighton public house has been placed up for sale.

West Hill Tavern, situated on Buckingham Place, has been listed for disposal by property consultancy Flude.

The freehold interest is being offered at approximately £375,000, with the purchase price encompassing both the licensed premises and a two-bedroom flat.

The establishment occupies a prominent corner position and is distinguished by its late Victorian architectural style.

Construction is believed to have been completed during the early 1850s, with the venue commencing operations as a public house in 1854.

The premises span three levels, comprising a basement level housing beer cellars and storage facilities, a ground floor containing the main bar area and customer conveniences, and a first floor providing residential accommodation in the form of a two-bedroom flat featuring a lounge, kitchen, bathroom, and a commercial kitchen serving the pub.

A modest garden area is located to the rear of the property.

The accommodation is presented with potential for alternative uses under the planning system, subject to the necessary consents, or may continue operating as a licensed premises in its current capacity.

Previously trading under the name Belle Vue Inn and affectionately referred to as The Westie by its regular patrons, the venue provided an assortment of food and beverage offerings.

Ben and Heather Pistor managed the establishment from 2017 onwards, with the pub additionally featuring artwork produced by creators based in Sussex.
