A body has been pulled from the sea at Selsey in West Sussex.

The recovery operation took place on August 30.

Emergency service vehicles were positioned along the coastline, with an RNLI vessel also present in the water at the scene.

HM Coastguard stated that the response was now under police direction.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary identified the deceased as Gayelynn Matthews.

Her next of kin have been notified.

The force indicated that the death is not considered suspicious.

A report is being compiled for the coroner.
