A fried chicken outlet is pursuing approval to serve customers through the early morning hours.

K & Z Newhaven Ltd has submitted an application for a fresh premises licence covering the KFC location on Marina Way at Brighton Marina.

The request falls under the Licensing Act 2003.

Should the application receive approval, trading hours would commence at 9:30am and conclude at 2am from Monday through Thursday.

On Fridays and Saturdays, operations would continue until 3am, while Sundays would see closure at 1am.

A key condition attached to the extended hours stipulates that following midnight, the establishment would function exclusively through delivery and collection services.

Walk-in customers would not be permitted entry during this period.

The licence submission also encompasses provisions for late-night refreshments.

Monday through Thursday service would operate between 11pm and 2am.

Fridays and Saturdays would extend this until 3am, with Sunday service concluding at 1am.

The same delivery and collection restriction would apply to the late-night refreshment period following the midnight threshold.

The deadline for public representations is set for September 15.

Records pertaining to the application can be inspected at council offices during standard working hours.

Summaries are additionally accessible via the Brighton and Hove City Council licensing portal.

The public notice cautions that making a false or reckless statement in connection with the application constitutes an offence, with those convicted liable to an unlimited fine upon summary conviction.
