By Sunday afternoon, authorities had taken six individuals into custody following the Premier League encounter between Brighton and Hove Albion and Crystal Palace, according to Sussex Police.

A representative for Sussex Police stated that additional officers had been deployed throughout Brighton city centre and the vicinity of The Amex stadium on the day of the fixture.

The spokesperson indicated that the enhanced security operation had been arranged beforehand to protect spectators at the match, those watching the game at various venues across the city, and the wider public.

No additional particulars regarding the detentions have been provided by police.

The security operation encompassed officers on horseback, canine units, and specialist response vehicles stationed in central Brighton.

Officers accompanied substantial groups of Crystal Palace supporters as they made their way to Brighton Station.

The British Transport Police confirmed that supplementary personnel would be operating across the rail network.

Certain areas of Brighton Station were cordoned off, while several services departing from Falmer after the final whistle bypassed Moulsecoomb and London Road stations.
