Children invited to explore music in new academy programme

Young people are being invited to explore their talent through a new series of short music courses.

The Create Music Academy will run from June 29 to July 17 at venues across Sussex, offering 38 short courses for six to 18-year-olds in a wide range of musical genres.

Designed for all ability levels, the courses are taught by Create Music’s team of experienced teachers.

Peter Chivers, director of Create Music, said: “Create Music Academy is a brilliant opportunity for children and young people to explore their creativity, build confidence and connect through music.

“These courses open the door to new experiences, helping every young musician take their next step and realise their potential.”

Courses run for one to three days and cost between £39 and £117.

Current Create Music students can get a 10 per cent discount and families on low incomes can apply for a 25 per cent bursary.

Create Music is one of the UK’s largest music education providers and leads the Sussex Music Hub, reaching more than 30,000 children in more than 500 schools and music centres.
