Regional lender marks impressive year welcoming new account holders

Wave Community Bank is marking 12 months of impressive expansion after welcoming nearly 1,600 additional members to its membership base.

The ethical lender, structured as a not-for-profit cooperative, has distributed £3.44 million in fresh lending, enabling residents to obtain reasonable interest rates rather than turning to expensive payday alternatives.

A substantial portion exceeding £1 million was advanced through salary deduction arrangements, simplifying the repayment process for borrowers.

The organisation’s outstanding lending portfolio has reached an all-time high of £5.55 million.

Wave Community Bank has also broadened its employer partnership programme, collaborating with 42 companies across the region.

This initiative enables workers to build savings systematically while obtaining budget-friendly credit facilities directly through their salary arrangements, alleviating monetary pressure.

The credit union returns every contribution made by savers to the local area in the form of accessible financing, guaranteeing that funds remain within the community.

This approach sustains the economic health of the neighbourhood while responding to growing appetite for socially responsible banking solutions.

The financial cooperative assists residents in managing their money effectively and preparing for tomorrow through the provision of straightforward, cost-effective services.
