A fan backing the football club bared his backside in delight as his team reached a significant achievement, leading to a police warning.
The supporter was overjoyed when Worthing FC earned promotion to the fifth-tier National League on April 25 after prevailing 2-0 over Ebbsfleet.
A record crowd of 4,002 people packed into the Sussex Transport Community Stadium, also known as Woodside Road, with many supporters arriving well before the 12:30 p.m. kickoff.
However, it was an onlooker situated outside the pitch who drew the most attention when Joe Cook struck the hosts ahead just before the break.
The person observed events from what appeared to be a house extension on a rooftop behind that goal, setting off a flare in Worthing’s red colours.
His bare posterior was subsequently visible to the Ebbsfleet supporters and was captured on camera.
Sussex Police confirmed they spoke to the individual about his conduct.
A force representative stated that officers attended the Worthing against Ebbsfleet match on Saturday, April 25. At around 1:10 p.m., police officers observed a man aged in his twenties behaving in an indecent manner. He was issued with a verbal caution at the scene. No arrests have been made at this time.
