A fresh collaboration is set to generate in excess of £3.7 million across the coming half-decade to bolster palliative care provisions.

St Catherine’s Hospice has entered into an agreement with Local Hospice Lottery aimed at expanding revenue through its lottery initiative, with funds directed towards supporting individuals throughout West Sussex and East Surrey.

Danielle Murphy, who serves as head of public fundraising at the hospice, expressed enthusiasm about the arrangement, noting that the collaboration would substantially enhance resources available for the organisation’s specialist care provisions.

She indicated that the arrangement would establish a dependable and consistent source of funding to assist patients and their relatives across the region.

According to statements attributed to the fundraising head, the combined effort would enable the hospice to make a more substantial impact on those in the local community who require specialist end-of-life services.

Local Hospice Lottery will commence its support for St Catherine’s at the conclusion of August 2026, becoming part of a network comprising 46 hospice charitable organisations across Great Britain that participate in weekly draw events.

Financial projections suggest the collaboration will direct between 60 and 80 percent of proceeds from each one-pound lottery entry toward St Catherine’s operations.

To assist with expanding the lottery scheme, a cohort of compensated fundraisers will initiate outreach activities, visiting residences and attending venues throughout the area.

All individuals conducting these activities will be identifiable by their distinctive clothing and will carry photographic identification credentials.
