Plans approved to turn Horsham flat into coffee shop

Published on

A planning application to convert a ground-floor residence into a small café has received approval from Horsham District Council.

The proposal involves part of Alexandra House, situated at 11 Queen Street at its junction with Park Terrace East in Horsham.

Planning officers have granted permission for the change of use affecting just one of three flats within the property.

The remaining two residences will remain unchanged.

According to a planning report, the scheme represents a suitable and sustainable addition to the area, enabling a small enterprise to operate within Horsham town centre and its primary shopping district.

The development is expected to contribute to economic growth, create local job opportunities and bolster the vitality and viability of the town centre.

Alexandra House has previous experience accommodating refreshment services, having formerly operated as the Alexandra Inn before closing in approximately 1972.

The new establishment will operate under different trading hours, opening from 7am to 5pm Monday through Saturday and from 8am to 4pm on Sundays.
