Up to £100,000 available in new Rother community grants scheme – apply by October 16

A grant programme has launched to support initiatives aimed at strengthening local communities.

The initiative, administered by Sussex Community Foundation in partnership with Rother District Council, offers total funding of up to £100,000.

Eligible projects must focus on economic growth, health and wellbeing, or environmental conservation.

Council leader Doug Oliver, who also chairs the grants assessment panel, described the programme as a valuable chance for community organisations to secure substantial financial support for their work serving residents and neighbourhoods across Rother.

According to Oliver, panel members anticipate that this year’s submissions will demonstrate the same high standard and community impact as previous cycles.

The scheme has previously helped fund a diverse range of grassroots projects throughout the area.

Two categories of funding are available to applicants.

Revenue grants of up to £10,000 may be used to cover operational expenses and direct project delivery for periods extending up to one year.

Capital grants, also available up to £20,000, are designated for construction work, significant equipment purchases, or property renovations.

Those wishing to apply must do so electronically through the Sussex Community Foundation portal before the deadline of Friday, 16 October.
