Hove cycle lane to close for electricity supply works until October 14

A temporary closure is to be implemented on a cycling route in Hove to facilitate infrastructure improvements.

The affected section runs along Western Esplanade between the western boundary of the King Alfred Leisure Centre and the intersection with Hove Street.

The restriction came into effect on September 7, with an anticipated completion date of October 14, subject to the works being finished sooner.

The closure spans approximately 200 metres of the route.

Brighton and Hove City Council initiated the measure to enable contractors to carry out the installation of a new electricity supply.

While the closure remains in force, the pavement alongside the affected cycling lane will operate as a combined route for both foot traffic and cyclists.
