A nationwide rollout of parcel lockers is set to transform the shopping experience at hundreds of Asda locations, with installations planned across multiple store formats including superstores, supermarkets, and Express branches.
The initiative, covering approximately 700 sites, will introduce InPost automated collection points to Asda customers throughout the United Kingdom.
The new facilities will enable shoppers to dispatch, retrieve, and return parcels during routine grocery visits, offering greater flexibility regarding timing and location.
The partnership aligns with rising consumer preference for delivery options that operate outside traditional homebound arrangements, reflecting a broader shift in retail logistics expectations.
Asda Director Joseph Sutton explained that the service portfolio differentiates the retailer from competitors, with customers increasingly seeking ways to accomplish multiple errands in a single outing.
The collaboration with InPost would bring automated parcel solutions to as many as 700 locations, providing rapid and adaptable access to collection and returns services that integrate seamlessly with weekly shopping routines.
The expansion builds upon InPost’s existing network of more than 16,000 automated units already operational across the UK.
Paul Selvey, Network Director at InPost UK, described the arrangement as a significant development in the company’s domestic growth strategy, emphasising that alliances with prominent retail brands like Asda are fundamental to the company’s goal of normalising out-of-home delivery nationwide.
The agreement connects Asda’s extensive retail estate with InPost’s established locker infrastructure, addressing escalating demand for alternative delivery methods as online shopping continues to grow.
The service provides an additional option beyond conventional home delivery, enabling customers to incorporate parcel management into standard supermarket trips.
