St Christophers School in Hove listed for sale ahead of Brighton College merger

Published on

An independent preparatory school in Hove is being offered for sale as part of plans to consolidate operations within the Brighton College network.

The freehold of St.

Christophers School, situated at 33 New Church Road, has been placed on the market for either sale or lease through Savills.

The institution currently operates under the Brighton College umbrella and is slated to combine with Windlesham School and Nursery, creating Brighton College Prep Hove from September 2027.

The site extends to approximately 1,088 square metres.

Its primary structure is a traditional double-fronted period building comprising a basement level, ground floor, and two upper storeys.

Contemporary additions have been constructed at the rear, enclosing a central courtyard area.

The grounds also feature an artificial turf playground along with various teaching spaces and accommodation for staff.

According to the sales particulars, the property could potentially be repurposed for alternative functions, provided the necessary planning consents are secured.

The premises will be handed over vacant following the conclusion of the existing lease agreement on August 1, 2027.

Those interested in acquiring the freehold should make enquiries directly with Savills, with viewings conducted strictly by prior arrangement.

The forthcoming Brighton College Prep Hove will provide education for pupils aged three to eleven.

This establishment will represent the fourth preparatory school within the Brighton College group, joining existing institutions in Kemptown, Handcross, and Kensington.
