A bar visited by Nigel Farage on a campaign tour has spoken out.
The Reform UK leader went to Worthing, Littlehampton and Bognor yesterday, April 30, ahead of council elections next week.
During the trip to Worthing, Mr Farage sat outside The Cow Shed in Marine Parade, where he ordered a gin, halloumi fries and calamari and was interviewed by The Argus.
The cocktail bar shared a statement on Facebook this morning, May 1, stating the visit was “unexpected” and “took [staff] by surprise”.
It reads: “We had an unexpected visitor yesterday who has provoked a lot of emotion in people on all sides of the political spectrum .
“We would like to say this. The visit was not planned and the whole situation was fast paced and took us by surprise.
“However, as a business, we would not refuse to serve someone just on the basis of their political opinion as we believe this would be discriminatory.
“We do not choose to only serve people who share our views – we are here for the community as a whole.
“We believe in freedom of expression and hope that a situation that was completely out of our control does not lead people to no longer come and enjoy our hospitality.”
While the Clacton MP was sitting outside The Cow Shed, he was accosted by a protester from Stand Up to Racism, who called him a “grifter”.
“The NHS is not safe in the hands of this man,” he added.
“You’re screwed under this man.”

“You’re not having a nice cosy lunch in Worthing, mate. It’s an anti-racist town.”
Mr Farage abandoned the food and drink and was escorted away by his security team as the protester continued to shout
The Reform UK team proceeded down the promenade towards two campaign buses, followed by the protester who was joined by Green Party supporters.
Mr Farage then departed Worthing for Littlehampton accompanied by West Sussex candidates.
