Four-month closure in place for major lifting operations

A four-month road closure has been approved.

Brighton and Hove City Council said Milton Road, at its junction with Elm Grove, will be closed to vehicles to allow a number of crane lifts.

The road is anticipated to remain closed until August 20.

The existing one-way system on Milton Road will be suspended for its entire length during this time.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout and the council has put in place a signed diversion route for vehicles.

The closure came into effect on April 20 and is being managed under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The measures are expected to remain in place for the duration of the works.
