A local MP has welcomed plans for a new stadium exclusively for women’s football in Brighton.

The venue will accommodate 10,000 spectators and is being developed by Brighton and Hove Albion. It marks the first facility of its kind anywhere in the United Kingdom and across Europe, with development work advancing as planned.

Chris Ward, representing Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven in Parliament, stated that this represents a significant milestone for women’s football and demonstrates the club’s continued leadership in the sport.

The planning submission is currently progressing, and the stadium is anticipated to welcome its first visitors during the 2030/31 campaign.

The facility will rise at Bennett’s Field, adjacent to the Amex Stadium.

Ward expressed pride in the club’s ambition to establish itself as an international pioneer in enabling women’s football to expand and flourish. He said he eagerly anticipates construction completing and the stadium commencing operations.
