Bosham

Described as a “small attractive village on one of the small inlets of Chichester harbour” by Visit South East England, Bosham is often labelled as being among the prettiest in the county.

Being a coastal village in a National Landscape, Bosham today is both “picturesque and a thriving centre for sailing”.

The village is said to “offer something to suit all tastes”, from history-lovers and photographers to hikers, cyclists, and sailors.

You can visit the Quay and the Church, browse through the many artisan shops in Bosham Walk, or “just relax and enjoy this very special place”.

House prices in Bosham have an overall average of £863,120 over the last year, according to Rightmove.

Alfriston

This pretty village is found in the Wealden District of East Sussex, in the valley of the River Cuckmere.

It has been labelled the “prettiest village in the county, if not the country” by publisher Muddy Stilettos, who also picked it as one of the best places to live.

Being on the banks of the Cuckmere River and at the foot of the beautiful South Downs, the walking routes in and around Alfriston here are stellar.

There is also the “medieval narrow, twisting High Street” that has a “surprising wealth and variety of shops”, according to Visit South East England.

Other things to visit include the first of the now famous Steamer Trading cookshops, jewellery and fashion boutiques, shops selling antiques, gifts and souvenirs, and an art gallery.

If you want to live in Alfriston, you will have to have some money saved.

Known for its thatched cottages, the village is labelled as “without doubt, one of the prettiest little villages in Sussex”, according to Hello Sussex.

It says that despite its “diminutive size and sleepy atmosphere”, there are a great many things to do in this “gorgeous corner of Sussex”.
