Authorities have sentenced an individual for drug-related offences following an investigation.
Law enforcement officers were on routine patrol when they observed a member of the public gesturing for someone to stop in Sillwood Street, Brighton, on February 22.
Both individuals proceeded to enter a residence, and the person who had been beckoned exited the building shortly after, within approximately ten seconds.
Officers subsequently detained the individual based on reasonable suspicion that illegal drug activity had occurred.
The suspect, Hamza Adanir, aged 26, residing at The Green in Ealing, was discovered carrying multiple substances.
Various narcotics including ketamine, cocaine, cannabis and currency were confiscated. Adanir was taken into police custody.
On February 24, Adanir faced charges at Brighton Magistrates’ Court, including one count of possession with intent to supply a class A controlled substance and two counts of possession with intent to supply class B controlled substances.
The defendant admitted guilt to the allegations and was held in custody pending determination of sentence.
Adanir subsequently appeared before Lewes Crown Court and received a prison term of 18 months on March 24.
