A pub is bringing back the buzz with a new kitchen takeover and bold plans for the summer.
The Prestonville Arms, run by landlord Harry Roper, has a new partnership with Jago’s Pizza, who will launch a kitchen residency on April 29.
The collaboration is part of the pub’s ongoing revival under Mr Roper, who has brought fresh energy to the venue since taking the helm.
Mr Roper said: “I’ve known Jago for several years and have always been a huge fan of his food.
“After nearly a year here, understanding what makes this pub tick, it felt like the perfect fit at the perfect time.
“We want to encourage people to stay longer into the evening, and Jago’s offering really lends itself to that.”
Since taking over, Mr Roper has introduced a variety of new events and offerings, including the Prestonville Sessions, a Thursday quiz hosted by Bugaloo Stu and a renewed focus on live music, all of which have helped the pub regain popularity.
The pub has also been shortlisted for East Sussex Pub of the Year at the Pub & Bar Awards.

Jago’s Pizza, founded in 2023, started as a weekend side project, with its founder perfecting recipes at home before launching publicly.
It quickly gained a following with a kitchen residency at The Vine in Worthing, and has since expanded to locations including The Moon by Sea in Goring and The Goose in Worthing.
Known for its New York-style slices with “bold, unapologetic char,” Jago’s blends elements of the emerging “London-style” pizza trend, making it a unique addition to the south coast food scene.
The menu will include 20-inch and 12-inch pizzas, along with snack size under £10, cheeseburgers, chicken strips and mozzarella dippers.
Mr Roper said: “There’s something for everyone, including families, to enjoy alongside a pint (or three).
“Don’t worry – our Sunday roasts are here to stay, and they’ll be getting a revamp too.
“With the World Cup this summer, we’re expecting the pub to become a real hub of activity.”
Opening night will include a 2-for-1 offer on selected 12-inch pizzas.
