Motorists should prepare for significant travel changes as a major automotive celebration draws near this weekend.

West Sussex County Council’s transportation management division has announced a series of temporary road arrangements to facilitate safe movement to and from the scheduled event running from September 18 through September 20.

The gathering represents one of the most prominent celebrations of historic motor racing worldwide.

Thousands of spectators are anticipated to descend upon the venue near Chichester for a showcase featuring vintage automobiles, classic motorcycles and period-correct attire.

Multiple settlements surrounding the circuit will be impacted by the measures.

Temporary closures have been scheduled for several lanes and residential roads spanning multiple communities throughout the three-day period.

Specific lane restrictions will prohibit certain turning maneuvers on a trio of roads until the event concludes.

Speed reductions will be implemented across numerous approaches, with varying limits ranging from 30 to 40 miles per hour depending on the specific route.

Parking prohibitions have been established on several thoroughfares, with these limitations set to remain in effect until September 22.

Passage will be preserved for emergency responders, local inhabitants and those traveling on foot, with personnel positioned throughout the affected areas to direct movement.

Rail services are likely to experience complications.

Infrastructure maintenance will disrupt certain train operations, with shuttle buses supplementing portions of the network.

This situation may intensify traffic conditions on routes leading to and from the Chichester vicinity.
