A free community gathering took place at a local skatepark, drawing hundreds of families and cycling enthusiasts for a day focused on skateboarding, scooting and BMX riding.
The Skate, Scoot & Bike initiative attracted more than 300 young participants to the Chichester facility, where visitors enjoyed complimentary workshops, performances by skilled athletes and instruction from experienced coaches.
The gathering was arranged by Chichester District Council with backing from More Leisure.
Cllr Harsha Desai, who serves as cabinet member for economic development, communications, licensing and events, expressed enthusiasm about the occasion.
She noted the event ranked among her most anticipated annual offerings and that she had been delighted to attend once more, describing the atmosphere as thoroughly enjoyable for all present.
Skilled performers entertained the crowd, with BMX specialist Matti Hemmings among those showcasing tricks alongside record-breaking scooter athlete Terry Price.
Meanwhile, members of the South Coast Skate Club conducted coaching sessions throughout the day.
Participants of varying ages were given the opportunity to use borrowed equipment and test out the ramps and features at the venue.
Jamie Stenner, a rollerblader based in Chichester, also featured in the programme.
Stenner remarked that this marked the third successive year of witnessing families embracing traditional physical pastimes centred around the skatepark and rolling sports, promoting movement, learning and enjoyment.
He observed minimal smartphone usage and widespread smiles throughout the gathering.
