Chichester District Council has given the green light to a residential development that will bring 33 new houses to Loxwood.
Macar Homes submitted the proposal for land situated to the south of Farm Close.
Planning committee members voted unanimously in favour of the scheme during their meeting on September 9.
The council previously rejected an application for 19 dwellings on the same parcel of land in 2017, citing worries about the proposed design and the proportion of larger properties.
An earlier plan for 17 homes received approval in 2013 but construction never commenced.
The new housing estate will utilise Farm Close for vehicle entry and exit.
Residences will comprise four units with one bedroom, 11 containing two bedrooms, 15 offering three bedrooms, and three properties with four bedrooms.
Thirteen of the total dwellings will qualify as affordable housing.
According to a design statement put forward alongside the application, thorough assessment was undertaken to produce a scheme maintaining visual consistency across the wider area.
The document indicated that extensive review of unit types, site layout, access arrangements, movement patterns, landscape impact and residential living conditions had been ongoing throughout the design process to ensure the scheme would serve Loxwood appropriately.
