A major renovation project has transformed a youth facility in Hastings, enabling it to serve twice as many young people each week.

The upgraded centre at Hollington can now accommodate up to 160 young people following a £3.3 million investment from the government’s Levelling Up initiative.

The refurbished building includes a café area, training kitchen, arts space, music room, relaxation zone, sports hall with gym facilities, and a sensory room.

These amenities replace what had become an outdated and underused structure.

A council spokesperson highlighted that the development represents a sustained commitment to supporting young residents, their households, and the broader local community.

The facility creates opportunities for various organizations, charities, and council departments to collaborate on initiatives benefiting local families and children under five.

Qualified youth workers will staff the centre, providing assistance designed to help attendees develop self-assurance, practical abilities, and achieve their aspirations.

The programme includes creative workshops, sports sessions, musical activities, and social events.

Services extend beyond youth engagement, with a Family Hub offering guidance for parents and guardians of young children.

The site also contains meeting rooms available for external agencies and community groups, while an NHS suite permits health and wellness services to operate directly from the premises.

The Hollington centre joins recently upgraded youth facilities in Heathfield, Peacehaven, and Eastbourne as part of ongoing investment in East Sussex youth provision.
