Erasure announce Brighton Centre show with Vince Clarke as musical director but off stage

Published on

Erasure have revealed plans for a significant arena tour in 2027.

The electronic pop partnership, comprising Andy Bell and Vince Clarke, will perform at the Brighton Centre on May 11, 2027, as part of this series of shows.

The live dates were announced alongside the new single Wings Of Love and information regarding their twentieth studio album, Radio!!

Radio!!, which is scheduled for release on March 12, 2027.

Clarke has been appointed as musical director for the upcoming tour.

Prior to taking on this role, Clarke relocated from New York to California.

He undertook extensive travel between his new home and London, which proved demanding.

Clarke found the experience difficult and initially considered stepping away from touring commitments.

After discussing his situation with Bell, Clarke was offered the musical director position.

He noted that this arrangement would allow him to handle his creative and directional responsibilities remotely while remaining based in California.

Clarke will not perform as a member of the live band during the tour.

Bell expressed satisfaction that a solution had been found to enable Clarke’s involvement.

He described Clarke as frequently underestimating his own contributions while being far more than merely a musical director.

Bell stated that Clarke represented one of the most significant relationships in his life and that all Erasure decisions are made jointly.

Radio!!

Radio!!

marks the duo’s first album in six years.

The year 2026 also commemorates forty years since their debut record was released.

The new album addresses themes of love, loss, and injustice.

Clarke mentioned that certain tracks on the record reference personal circumstances, though not every song draws from his own experiences.

He noted that the material emerged naturally without deliberate discussion or planning.

Both musicians have characterised the album as intensely personal, influenced by their decades-long collaborative relationship and periods of mourning they have both experienced recently.

Bell described their songwriting partnership as profound and spiritual in nature.

He explained that mutual trust develops over such extended creative collaboration, likening it to a soul connection where complete openness becomes possible.

Bell stated that this process creates a sacred creative space.

General ticket sales commence at 10am on Friday, October 2, 2026.
