Five popular Sussex holiday parks bought by European investment group

A European investment firm has completed the acquisition of five holiday parks located in Sussex.

The properties, which form part of the Park Holidays UK portfolio, have been purchased by Aermont, a firm that manages assets across the continent including retail destinations, cinema chains and film production facilities.

The takeover concludes a four-year period during which the American corporation Sun Communities held ownership of Park Holidays UK.

The Sussex-based parks rank among the best-performing sites within the company’s portfolio, which encompasses 56 locations throughout England, Wales and Scotland.

Facilities at the parks include holiday lodges and static caravans available for short-term rental or outright purchase, alongside recreational amenities such as swimming pools and entertainment attractions suitable for families.

Brad May, the chief marketing officer at Park Holidays UK, indicated that the incoming investment would establish a solid foundation for continued expansion and enable the business to attract additional visitors to its parks.

He pointed to the economic benefits generated by guest expenditure at nearby commercial establishments, including retail outlets and hospitality venues, which contributes to maintaining employment in the surrounding area.

Park Holidays UK confirmed that operational procedures would remain unchanged following the transition in ownership.

The enterprise provides seasonal employment for approximately 3,000 staff members at times of highest demand.

The five Sussex locations are Chichester Lakeside Holiday Park, Coghurst Hall Holiday Park situated near Hastings, Pevensey Bay Holiday Park, Rye Harbour Coastal and Country Park, and Winchelsea Holiday Park.

Aermont has stated its intention to contribute to the continued development of the group’s operations.
