A debut fiction work by a writer from Brighton is approaching publication, presenting a fictional portrayal of Britain facing severe turmoil.

Heather Turnbull’s inaugural novel, titled Blood-stained Crown, is scheduled for release celebrations at Brighton Dome on the evening of Thursday, November 5, 2026.

The event is set to begin at 5.30pm.

The story unfolds within a 2031 setting, examining how individuals and societies navigate circumstances involving authority, opposition, redemption, and collective resilience when confronted with upheaval.

The narrative portrays a country sliding toward chaos, traditional structures collapsing, unexpected forces emerging, and everyday citizens defending their existence.

According to available information, the manuscript required an extended development period spanning several years.

The publication poses a central inquiry regarding human priorities during moments of societal collapse.

Attendees at the launch gathering can anticipate a live reading segment, personal interaction with Turnbull, an interactive question-and-answer segment, and insight into the creative influences underpinning the work.

The occasion is slated to take place within the Gallery Bar area of the Brighton Dome venue.
