Zoe Lyons backs Brighton campaign uniting eight homelessness charities

The Brighton-based comedian and television presenter Zoe Lyons has endorsed a fundraising initiative aimed at supporting people experiencing or facing the risk of homelessness in the city.

Lyons has thrown her weight behind Make Change Count, a collaborative effort uniting eight charitable organisations dedicated to assisting vulnerable individuals throughout Brighton and Hove.

To commemorate World Homeless Day on October 10, the comedian features in a newly released promotional video urging residents, companies, and institutions to contribute to the cause.

According to Lyons, the initiative effectively coordinates charitable efforts to assist those struggling with homelessness locally.

She expressed the view that all individuals merit access to secure accommodation.

Representatives from the participating charities emphasised that directing support through the campaign represents the most impactful approach to aiding those without stable housing.

The programme funds skilled assistance that extends beyond immediate emergency shelter provisions.

The organisations stated that properly delivered support can guide individuals away from sleeping outdoors and toward stable accommodation and improved long-term prospects.

Make Change Count was established in 2016 and receives backing from Brighton and Hove City Council alongside Sussex Police.

The initiative covers numerous provisions, including outreach work on the streets, emergency shelter options, supported living arrangements, physical and mental health assistance, and services designed to promote lasting stability.

The 2026/27 campaign seeks to generate financial support for essential services throughout the city.
