Glasgow folk artist Michael McGovern brings sold-out tour to Brighton’s Hope & Ruin

A folk musician who was born in Glasgow is scheduled to appear in Brighton next month.

Michael McGovern will take to the stage at The Hope & Ruin on November 12.

The evening event runs from 7pm until 11pm and is restricted to those aged 18 and over.

Standard entry costs £18.

McGovern has earned a place on the longlist for Album of the Year at the SAY awards, marking a significant milestone in his career.

His most recent release, Thin White Road, has garnered considerable critical praise and achieved chart success, representing an expansion of his folk foundations into a more expansive, cinematic sound.

The musician blends poetic lyrical content with sophisticated guitar work, and has developed a reputation for compelling storytelling within his compositions.

A breakthrough moment arrived with the single Evelyn, which gained significant attention when actor Paul Mescal discussed the track during an interview with BAZAAR.

This exposure contributed to McGovern reaching listeners worldwide, with streams of his music exceeding two million.

His recent tour activity included a 26-date sold-out run across Ireland and a three-night sold-out residency in London.

Tickets for the Brighton performance and other upcoming shows throughout the UK and Ireland remain available for purchase through the artist’s official website.

The Hope & Ruin venue is situated at 11-12 Queens Road in Brighton, within the BN1 3WA postal area.
