A Brighton-based singer-songwriter has revealed details of his first full-length record and shared new music drawing inspiration from his parents’ romantic history.
Alfie Jukes will unveil his debut studio album, Funny Little Feeling, in April 2027.
The track centres on Jukes’ mother and father, who met when his father reportedly fell in love with his mother over the course of a single evening.
At the time, she was already in a relationship, though that did not deter him.
He subsequently composed a letter expressing his true feelings, an approach that proved successful.
Jukes discovered the original correspondence stored in the family’s attic some years after the events described within it.
He has described the discovery as a surreal moment and explained that the fragment of paper ultimately led to his own existence.
The single was co-written and produced by GETH.
Critics have characterised the release as an infectious, feel-good alternative pop track featuring upbeat melodies, punchy hooks and a chorus designed to linger in listeners’ memories.
Jukes has cultivated a substantial online presence, amassing more than one million followers across social media platforms.
His reputation has been built on candid lyricism and a distinctive alternative pop aesthetic.
The album has been described as a coming-of-age collection exploring themes of maturation, romantic attachment and emotional loss.
Recent years have brought significant transformation, encompassing positive developments alongside changes that have evoked nostalgia for circumstances that no longer persist in their original form.
The concept of nostalgia has been identified as the record’s central throughline.
Jukes has already established himself on the live circuit, completing sold-out headline performances in London, Brighton, Manchester and Leeds alongside international appearances in Amsterdam, Berlin, Vienna and Prague.
