Veterinary nurse launches pet funeral service for Sussex pet owners

Published on

A veterinary nurse has established a new service offering pet collection and funeral arrangements for owners who have lost beloved animals.

Alexandra Gravett, who has spent more than two decades working in veterinary practices and is a pet owner herself, founded Noah’s Angels.

The business provides support for those facing the difficult task of parting with their companion animals.

Gravett, a resident of the Brighton area, identified that many owners find seeking assistance during such emotionally charged circumstances particularly challenging.

The service aims to guide pet owners through practical arrangements while providing emotional support throughout the process.

According to Gravett, the enterprise handles all aspects of collection and funeral logistics, connecting the owner’s home, their veterinary practice, and the final resting place.

Individual cremation is offered as standard, with ashes subsequently returned to the family.

The business was established in April after Gravett observed that numerous owners struggled with the prospect of leaving their pet’s remains at the veterinary surgery following their final farewell.

Among those who have utilised the service is Julia Ridley, a resident of Hassocks.

Her cat Sydney died peacefully in her sleep while Ridley and her family were away from home.

Upon receiving the distressing telephone call, Ridley described the situation as heartbreaking, with additional concern about returning to find Sydney there.

Gravett attended the property to transport Sydney to a crematorium selected by the family.

Following the cremation, Sydney’s ashes were returned to the household.

The service operates throughout Sussex and Surrey, providing availability on all seven days of the week.
