Coca-Cola has introduced a public vote for the first time, allowing people across Great Britain to help select the towns that will receive a visit from its Christmas Truck Tour during November and December.
The illuminated red vehicle will travel with games, Coca-Cola merchandise and cold drinks as part of the seasonal tour.
Sussex could be included among the selected locations, following previous visits to the county during the festive period.
Coca-Cola Great Britain senior brand manager Charlotte Butt said the vote was intended to recognise communities and encourage shared Christmas celebrations.
The company said the tour had produced memorable festive experiences in towns across the country for many years and that the public would now have a say in where it travelled next.
Research conducted before the vote found that 82 per cent of respondents wished their town had a stronger Christmas atmosphere.
Among the findings, 75 per cent wanted additional lights and decorations, while 65 per cent expressed a preference for festive markets or fairs.
Almost half of the adults surveyed believed their town lacked a Christmas market, and 42 per cent wanted more free community activities.
Half also identified a welcoming town centre as the factor that made a place feel like Christmas.
The Christmas truck has made several trips to Sussex in previous years.
One visit took place in Eastbourne in 2015, when the vehicle was stationed on Terminus Road.
Visitors were able to view the lorry at close range and take photographs while a live choir performed Christmas songs.
Chichester hosted the truck in 2013 as part of the same year’s national festive tour.
It parked on East Street between 1pm and 9pm.
The tour also reached Brighton in 2012, with the red lorry visiting Madeira Drive.
The Christmas vehicle has appeared in Coca-Cola advertising since 2007.
Voting requires a Coca-Cola account on the company’s website and permits up to three votes.
The process remains open until midnight on November 3.
Social media personality Joe Sugg, who lives in Hassocks, voted for Corsham, where he attended school and continues to have friends.
Sugg said Christmas is most special when it provides an activity that can be enjoyed together.
He welcomed the opportunity for people across Great Britain to select a town that could gain additional festive attractions, reasons for friends and families to spend time together and a memorable Christmas experience.
Sugg lives with his partner, Dianne Buswell, in a £3.5 million mansion near Brighton.
