A man’s remains were discovered close to a motorway interchange, according to officers.
The exit ramp linking the A23 in a southerly direction with the A27 heading west was sealed off by emergency responders on August 26.
A communication issued by Sussex Police through online platforms urged drivers to steer clear of the vicinity and pursue other itineraries while personnel carried out their duties.
Authorities from Sussex Police have subsequently verified that a man’s body was recovered and that attempts to establish his identity remain underway.
A representative for the constabulary stated that the deceased was located near the junction connecting the A23 and A27 westbound in the Patcham area on Wednesday, August 26.
Investigations were continuing to determine the individual’s name and make contact with his relatives.
Officers indicated that the fatality was not currently considered to involve any criminal circumstances.
