Additional information has emerged following confirmation that a prominent fashion brand will be re-establishing itself in Brighton.
It was previously disclosed that Uniqlo filed applications to place its characteristic red-and-white signage on a key unit at Churchill Square in Brighton.
The Japanese clothing company has now released additional particulars regarding the outlet, marking a comeback more than 13 years after its North Street location ceased operations.
The establishment is scheduled to commence business in spring or summer 2027 within the premises previously occupied by H&M.
The company operated in Brighton for just one year at its former North Street location.
The forthcoming outlet will display the retailer’s distinctive fabric technologies alongside its popular graphic tee ranges.
The launch forms part of Churchill Square’s strategy to convert the venue from a conventional retail complex into an energetic hub for community gatherings.
Alessandro Dudech, the company’s United Kingdom chief operating officer, stated that the announcement marked an exciting milestone for the brand, describing Brighton as a city celebrated for its artistic spirit, cultural offerings and lively population.
He noted that the opening demonstrated the company’s dedication to expanding access to its LifeWear concept across Britain, providing consumers with carefully crafted garments designed to improve daily routines.
He expressed enthusiasm about becoming integrated into the local community and anticipation for greeting both loyal patrons and first-time visitors.
The international retailer has lodged applications regarding signage placement at the centre.
Mark Buchanan-Smith, who manages the venue’s community spaces, remarked that customers had been requesting the brand’s presence in Brighton for considerable time, making the announcement particularly gratifying.
He observed that the company’s emphasis on craftsmanship, understated aesthetics and environmental responsibility aligned harmoniously with the objectives Churchill Square sought to provide.
He described the outlet as a valuable enhancement to the communal areas, offering residents additional motivations to frequent and remain at the complex.
Announcements concerning the official opening celebrations and collaborations with local organisations will be issued as the launch date approaches.
