Fiveways taproom invites Brighton residents to name new community pale ale by Oct 10

A Brighton establishment is calling on local residents to contribute ideas for naming a new community-themed pale ale.

Lost And Found Taproom, situated in the Fiveways district of the city, has joined forces with The Manor Brewing Co to develop an exclusive brew that captures the character of the neighbourhood.

Jon Rutter, who owns the taproom, explained that the objective was to create a beverage that felt intrinsic to Fiveways rather than belonging solely to the venue.

He noted that collaborating with a brewery generating significant excitement felt like an ideal opportunity to open the process to public participation, allowing residents to influence both the title and the design featured on the glassware.

The Manor Brewing Co operates from premises in the Bell Tower Industrial Estate and ranks among the newest additions to Brighton’s brewing scene.

Matt Staniland from the company stated that projects of this nature were precisely the kind of work the brewery enjoyed supporting.

He observed that quality beverages ought to carry significance for those consuming them, and involving the Fiveways community in naming and designing the product would ensure each pint carried a narrative from the outset.

The venue has previously sought public involvement in selecting beer names, which resulted in the creation of Dunk IPA.

That particular brew was named as a tribute to Brighton’s distinguished captain Lewis Dunk and swiftly became one of the establishment’s most successful offerings.

Residents now have the opportunity to propose name suggestions by sending entries to the designated email address before the middle of October.

Following the selection of a name, the local community will also be invited to submit designs for the tap badge.

Both the winning name and badge design will be determined through voting among the public.

Those whose contributions are selected will receive a collection of merchandise from the taproom.

The newly crafted pale ale is anticipated to be available from early November, with a special launch evening scheduled to take place at the venue.

Lost And Found Taproom has built its reputation in Brighton through a regularly changing selection of beverages, community-focused occasions and active support for the surrounding area.

The Manor Brewing Co was established during the spring season and concentrates on artisan brewing with a focus on excellence and innovative approaches.

Mr Rutter commented that the initiative was intended as a celebration of the residents who contribute to Fiveways’ identity, and expressed enthusiasm about discovering what the local community would propose.
