A recently renovated hydrotherapy pool at a care facility in Warnham, West Sussex, is supporting residents to restore their independence and physical movement.
The installation, operated by Splendid Care Group, is enhancing quality of life and family interactions for those receiving care.
The warm-water pool provides therapeutic benefits and is overseen by physiotherapists employed directly by the organisation.
Laura Newton, operations director at Splendid Care Group, highlighted that the facility represents a significant resource with the capacity to create meaningful improvements in residents’ lives.
Early results have demonstrated positive developments, with individuals experiencing tangible gains from their sessions.
Splendid Care Group manages two residential care homes alongside specialist services for individuals with acquired brain injuries in the surrounding area.
One individual receiving care, named Scott, who experiences quadriplegia, cerebral palsy and additional health conditions, has already derived advantage from the new amenity.
His father noted that within the aquatic environment, Scott becomes capable of movements impossible in other settings.
He is able to squirm, kick and move of his own volition, gaining substantial benefits both physically and psychologically.
The physiotherapy department collaborated extensively with Scott’s relatives to tailor the sessions appropriately.
Future plans for Splendid Care Group include making the facility accessible to members of the local community beyond those residing in their homes.
