Two establishments in Worthing, Sussex, have been included in the latest additions to the Michelin Guide.
The guide, which publishes monthly updates to its selection of recommended restaurants, conducts ongoing assessments of both existing venues and new openings throughout the year.
August saw 22 restaurants added to the overall selection.
Among the new entries is Bauji, a bistro-style restaurant operated by the group behind Heritage Dulwich, under the leadership of chef Dayashankar Sharma.
The venue, which opened earlier this year, takes its name from the Hindi word for father.
Its menu draws inspiration from Sharma’s upbringing in Rajasthan and recipes that have been passed through the family over generations.
Sharma previously held positions at Michelin-starred establishments Tamarind and Zaika, both located in Kensington.
Heritage Dulwich, which launched in 2021, entered the guide the subsequent year, providing a foundation for this new venture.
The offering includes traditional Indian fare such as tikka, naan, and curry, with protein choices spanning chicken, lamb, and seafood.
The business responded to the inclusion by stating that achieving such recognition early in its operation represented genuine gratitude.
The recognition was described as dedicated to the entire team, acknowledging those who worked tirelessly through demanding schedules to establish the restaurant.

Worthing’s second new addition is Tern, an independent fine dining venue and cocktail bar centred on British produce.
The establishment positions itself as celebrating ingredients sourced within the British Isles and those who cultivate, catch, and forage them.
The kitchen operates under a zero-import philosophy, aligning closely with seasonal availability.
Diners can select from five, seven, or ten-course tasting experiences, with Sunday brunch and bar snack options also available.
The drinks programme focuses exclusively on British wines, spirits, and cocktails, curated to showcase domestic producers.
The venue comprises two distinct areas: an open kitchen and dining space on the upper level, alongside a cocktail bar on the lower floor.
Menus evolve regularly according to seasonal conditions and ingredient availability.
Tern marked its third anniversary during the summer period, noting that a crowdfunder campaign approximately a year prior had enabled significant development of the restaurant concept.
The inclusion in the guide was attributed to the team surrounding the business and all who had contributed to Tern over the preceding three years.
Past and present team members were credited with shaping and improving the establishment.
Both venues have attracted positive feedback on review platforms.
Bauji holds a 4.5 out of 5 rating, with visitors highlighting the friendliness and attentiveness of service alongside praise for the food’s presentation and authentic spice profiles.
Testimonials describe the cuisine as among the best Indian fare experienced, with inventive flavours and welcoming staff.
Tern maintains a 4.6 out of 5 rating, with reviewers referring to it as a genuine discovery.
