A tree has fallen over on Bedford Row in Worthing town centre, and smashed through the window of a residential property there.

It is believed the tree may have been uprooted due to high winds.

The tree has gone through the upper window of a property on Bedford Row.

A cordon has been formed around the tree and affected property.

Police and fire services have attended the scene.

We have contacted Sussex Police and West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service for more details.

It is believed the tree may have been uprooted by high winds.

Worthing experienced blustery conditions today, with wind speeds reaching 19-20mph and gusts peaking at 32mph during the afternoon, according to Met Office data.

Sustained winds of around 19mph persisted throughout much of the day, with gusts of 30-31mph recorded from the early morning through mid-afternoon
