Dogs will be banned from a number of beaches for the summer months as annual restrictions come into force.
The ban will be implemented on Arun’s bathing beaches from May 1 until September 30, to help keep the beaches clean, safe and accessible.
The restriction will cover Bognor Regis, from Bognor Regis Sailing Club ramp to Gloucester Road, and Felpham, from Canning Road to Felpham Sailing Club.
Littlehampton will also be included from East Pier to Norfolk Road.
A spokesperson for Arun District Council said: “Please remember that your dog is your responsibility at all times and that includes picking up their poo.”
Dogs must also be kept on a lead while on the promenades adjacent to the restricted areas.
Owners who are seen to be walking their dog on beaches with restrictions or on the promenades without a lead will be issued with a fine.
Separate seasonal restrictions will also be in place for horses, which will not be permitted on the beaches between 10am and 6pm during the same time period.
The council has emphasised that dogs are still welcome on other sections of the coastline throughout the year.

Various other stretches of Sussex beaches are also subject to dog restrictions during summer months.
An area of Selsey beach is closed to dogs between May and September, defined as ‘peak season’.
Dogs are also not allowed on the seafront during peak season between West View and Edinburgh Road at Seaford, and on Bexhill Beach from Brockley Road to Sea Road.
Dogs in Brighton are permitted on certain ‘dog friendly’ beaches all year round, but are restricted on others, with a full list available on Brighton and Hove City Council’s website.
