Crime scene images from Brighton’s seafront as police gather evidence

One individual lost his life and another was taken into custody after an altercation involving knives between three individuals.

Security measures have been maintained outside Moon Lodge in Regency Square, Brighton since the early morning, with a significant law enforcement presence throughout the area.

Investigators were observed entering and exiting the premises while a canine unit also made its way to the location, which is thought to be a hostel.

Officers responded to reports of a disturbance occurring inside a property in Regency Square at approximately 2.10am on Sunday, 26 April.

Two males were discovered with injuries from bladed weapons, and one individual in his thirties was transported to a medical facility where his condition was described as critical.

The other male, who was 37 years old, was declared dead at the location shortly afterward. His family members have been notified, and authorities have expressed their condolences.

In the vicinity, law enforcement officers detained a 26-year-old individual with no permanent residence, on charges of murder, intentional causing of serious bodily harm, and possessing a Class A controlled substance with the intention of distributing it.

He continues to remain in police custody at this time.
